The North Carolina Parenting Education Network (NCPEN) is working to build the field of parenting education in the state with a focus on partnerships between parents and child care providers, teachers, and parent educators. Working together we can help each child reach his or her own potential! NCPEN is an unfunded collaborative of parenting education organizations and agencies.

How can Parenting Education be recognized
on the NC legislative agenda
?
-Brian Lewis
Covenant with North Carolina's Children
Executive Director

Brian challenged the group's thinking regarding the benefits of having a parent educator license. A license begins with a definition of parent education. A definition begins with conversations with legislators to understand the field of parenting education.

The work group that volunteered included: Stephanie Jones, Peggy Kernodle, Helen Watkins, Andrew Behnke, Renee Nuckols, Melissa Lewis, Phyllis D'Agostino, Walls, and Tina Swain.
